Stylar is an image and design tool incorporating AI to enhance and edit images. It allows members to transform photos using any of the included filters, combine images using AI, easily remove objects, and more. Begin by creating an account using your email or logging in with a Google account. Edit images by uploading a photo from your device and choosing from the many editing tools and filters provided. Select "Create a new project" to create images from text, insert objects, and alter images using the provided tools. When finished, images are available in your history and to download. The free plan offers 30 credits/day (resets daily), three auto prompts daily, and five text-to-image and image-to-image features per day.
In the Classroom
Stylar is perfect for many classroom uses and an excellent resource for you and your students. Use the image tools to remove unwanted objects from classroom photos, create profile images of students for student projects, or create AI images for creative writing projects. It is also an assessment tool that can help develop continuing learning growth. The AI features thoughtful questions that guide participants through a reflective process using personalized prompts. After creating an account, create a group by adding a group name and grade level, and define how students access the activity. Reflect is a well-being app that uses check-ins to support connections in learning communities and promote a culture of self-awareness and empathy. Reflect is built into Teams education accounts and requires signing in with a valid school account to use within Google Classroom, Canvas, and other Learning Management Systems. Some available activities include brain breaks, guided meditation, and 2-minute stretching routines.
In the Classroom
Use Reflect as part of your classroom social and emotional support activities. For elementary classrooms, include daily check-ins, provide learning opportunities to encourage the use of emotional vocabulary, and incorporate reflections as part of discussions of characters and their emotions when reading stories and books. In middle school, include Reflect as part of weekly check-ins for emotional support, facilitate group discussions based upon feedback from check-ins, or use Reflect's tools to encourage students to set personal and academic goals. Prodia is an easy-to-use generative AI image-creation tool that doesn't require registration. Enter your prompt in the chat and click to generate your image in just a few seconds. Once generated, hover over the image to regenerate it, download it as a PNG file, or delete it. Additional settings for advanced users include choice of AI model, adding words to exclude from the AI art, and image creation settings.
In the Classroom
Use Prodia to generate images for many different classroom uses quickly. Generate pictures to use as creative writing prompts, as artwork for newsletters and slide presentations, and create images to teach vocabulary in foreign language classes. Use image creation tools to help students explore how to write descriptive and effective prompts that generate their desired outcome. Ask students to create images to include with any writing project, and share student writing in digital books using Book Creator, reviewed here. iorad is a browser-based resource for creating interactive step-by-step tutorials for using any website. Tutorials include highlighted and interactive directions. Create a free personal account, then follow the directions to download iorad's browser extension or desktop application to your computer. Create a tutorial by selecting the "new capture" link and following the directions to begin recording from your chosen tab. Demonstrate the procedure and stop recording when finished. iorad automatically creates the tutorial and offers options to edit the contents before completing the publishing process. Share completed tutorials using the links or embed code provided.
In the Classroom
The number of classroom uses for this tool is countless! Use iorad to create guides for students to log in to software, games, and computer programs. Create step-by-step guides for students on adding or editing images in tools such as Google Slides, reviewed here or Genially, reviewed here. Ask students to include iorad tutorials within multimedia presentations to demonstrate information, such as how to search Google for Creative Commons Images or narrow searches to fit into a custom time frame.
