Here's a site for the serious math students from the publishers of Mathematica math software. The content on the site is completely separate from any product information. It includes examples and discussion of more than a dozen mathematics concepts from algebra through calculus, number theory, and even "recreational math." We particularly like the conciseness of the explanations. Students who need another look at a concept will almost certainly find something useful here. This site is a great reference tool or study aid.
In the Classroom
Put a link to this site on your webpage for students and parents to access when needing an explanation for any math concept. Because this is a text heavy site, sure to demonstrate the site in class with your projector. Ask for student volunteers to give concepts they would like more help with, and demonstrate that section of the site to the students.You must be registered and logged in to add items to your favorites.

This section of Swarthmore College's extensive math site offer suggestions for science fair projects which have a focus on mathematics. There are sample projects, collections of ideas, and links to science fair sites from other schools. If your students are "stuck," this site should get them moving.
In the Classroom
Post this site on the class web page, to allow students to access it both in and out of the classroom. The site has a ton of ideas on project ideas for math fairs, and students should be encouraged to look at it before making a decision on their own project. In the Classroom
Use this site over the interactive whiteboard to work and solve on equations as a class. Have students attempt to solve the problems on a whiteboard before allowing them to use the site to check their work. This will be a more inclusive way to solve problems as a class over the calculator that only one can see. In the Classroom
Use the "Mathematician of the day" section on the interactive whiteboard or projector as a brain-warmer at the beginning of class. Highlighting important mathematicians can help connect the ideas to people, making the subject more tangible. What's great about the mathematicians mentioned is that there are links explaining who they are and their significance in the math world. This Web Site contains word problems for students, parents, and teachers. The problems are classified into grade levels from Grade 5 to Grade 12. This is not a test, but a set of carefully selected problems which can help you improve your problem solving skills. It works if you try to carefully think about how you would solve each problem, and once you have found the solution, you make sure that you understand all parts of the solution. You can try any problem you like and if the problem is a little difficult you can get helpful hints by following the hints link. Complete solutions are available to teachers with e-mail addresses upon request. The problems are separated by grade.
In the Classroom

MendelWeb is a rich hypermedia site that integrates the study of elementary mathematics (i.e. probability and statistics), classical genetics, European history, and the history of early modern biology. It is geared to both the high school/AP teacher and student. The section entitled "Secondary Sources and Tools" provides additional ideas and activities for use in the classroom. Noteworthy is the "Mendelroom" a virtual space designed for teachers and students who wish to share their experiences and ideas when using MendelWeb.
In the Classroom
Introduce this site with a projector or on an interactive whiteboard to show students how to navigate. Suggestion - start with "Experiments in Plant Hybridization." The English Hypertext is a glossary. Then, in your flipped or blended classroom (or at a computer center), have students explore assigned sections of Experiments in Plant Hybridization on their own. Ask students to create their own concept maps sharing their learning and understanding using MindMup, reviewed here. Take this a step further and allow pairs or small groups of students share what they learned with their peers using an interactive infographic like Canva, reviewed here. Students can keep their work for future reference in a digital portfolio such as DIY, reviewed here. This site offers self-paced tutorials and other help with learning statistics. Tutorials included are AP Statistics, Statistics and Probability, and Matrix Algebra. Tutorials include lessons available through the table of contents listed at the left side of each page. It is suggested that you follow the lessons in order. At the end of each lesson is a short review question including the answer and an explanation. Information is also available on the site for the AP statistics exam and includes a Practice Exam, Study Guide Review, and list of approved calculators. Statistics tables and tools are also available on the site. Everything on the site is free for public use with the exception of the Sample Planning Wizard which is a pay option.

This site offers information about energy, including games and videos, for students and provides curriculum materials for teachers. Students can read and learn about the history of electricity, power safety tips, and learn about "green" power. Games include Power Bandit, a word search, crossword, and jigsaw puzzles. Beware of the Energy Vampire explains to students how to save energy, and which appliances use a lot of energy. There is a large inventory of videos showing different types of energy production plants, explaining power production through the use of coal and nuclear reactors, and the history of the TVA. Teachers, be sure to check out the teacher's section of the site which includes lesson plans and activities for elementary through high school. Engaging and colorful.
In the Classroom
Share this site with students on your interactive whiteboard or projector and allow students to explore on their own. Create a scavenger hunt with questions from the students and have students explore the site to find answers. Watch videos on your interactive whiteboard during lessons on energy production, conservation, or history lesson. After learning about a specific topic, challenge cooperative learning groups to enhance their learning by completing a presentation with "talking pictures" using Blabberize.
This resource requires PDF reader software like Adobe Acrobat.

Upload a photo to the Color palette generator to view four selected colors that coordinate with the image. The generated colors include both the color name and the color code. If you are looking for ideas, try the Color palettes. Browse through the color palettes or explore by typing a theme, color, or keyword to find suggested palettes. Learn about color theory and color combinations by exploring the Color wheel. Take an in-depth look at colors in the Color Meaning portion of the site. Choose any color to learn more about the color space and conversions in different formats.

Colors is an excellent resource to have handy for many different digital, and graphic design uses. Share this site with students to use as a resource for selecting colors within PowerPoint or Google Slide presentations. Use the suggestions when creating infographics, flyers, or other designs within Canva for Education, reviewed here.
