Discover hundreds of resources for educators of students of all ages to support STEM curriculum at this site provided by NASA. Interactive games, activities, lessons, videos, facts, projects...the NASA list of resources is vast. Use the keyword search to find content by specific topic or select from the grade level bands to view resources. The content also includes the latest space station updates and opportunities for educators. Be sure to follow the link to NASA Wavelength to find the large database of lessons searchable by topic, grade level, instructional strategy, and type of resource. TeachersFirst lists many individual activities and lessons, but this well-designed teacher portal will give you access to even more. Explore this site for a wealth of information about NASA, space, math, and science in general. From history to the present, your students will grow in NASA knowledge as they interact with the site. All ages, from preschool to college, can find appropriate information at this site.
In the Classroom
This site is a must-see for all science and STEM teachers. Be sure to bookmark the site to use for lesson plans and student interactives. Easily create and share links for students using a bookmarking tool like Symbaloo, reviewed here for younger students or Papaly, reviewed here for older students. Both sites make it easy to share a group of links in one easy-to-find page. Extend classroom technology use when working with online articles, by using Fiskkit, reviewed here, as a collaborative discussion tool. After creating a Fiskkit account, use the site's tools to share a link to any online article and highlight information to use as part of your discussion. Students then can add their own thoughts to the article, making it a shared collaboration and reflection piece. As a final project, transform classroom technology use by asking students to create explainer videos using , reviewed here to demonstrate learning of concepts. Do you need "out of this world" images? NASA provides images, video, and audio for non-commercial use, free. Browse through the newest uploads or most popular items to get an idea of included items. If looking for specific topics, use the search bar to locate material by keyword, then use the filters to narrow down by the type of content desired. All items include a link to download to your computer along with links to share by URL or with social media. Be sure to check out the Media Usage guidelines for complete details on the usage of the site's content.
In the Classroom
Include this site with your other bookmarks for images and space-related content. Use Symbaloo, reviewed here, to share all of your space bookmarks in one easy to find location. This NASA site is an excellent resource for finding images to use with creative writing prompts; display an interesting image from the site for student storytelling lessons. Exchange paper and pen writing journals, and share their writing using Edublog, reviewed here. As students learn about space topics, ask them to find an image on this site then use Image Annotator, reviewed here, to enhance their learning by annotating the image with text, video, and web links to additional information. View an immense collection of astronomical images. Choose from easy to navigate categories such as "Universe," "Solar System," "Earth," "Aeronautics," or "Astronauts." View based upon the what, where, or who specifics of the pictures. Click "share this" to copy and paste to an email or "embed this" to determine aspects of the picture and use an embed code to place into a wiki, blog, or other site. Registration is not required to use this site. However, Registration does allow you to create groups of pictures easily to save for viewing later. Hover over the interactive timeline along the bottom to view specific space flights.
In the Classroom
Use any of the images here for discussion about aspects of space, the technology involved in space flight, and the objects we are fascinated with in the solar system. Use the images to discuss changes in technology, issues of the day affecting space travel, missions through the solar system, and information learned from those missions. Students can use the images to discuss current space travel plans and opinions on information learned and needs of future generations. In the Classroom
After introducing the site with a projector or on an interactive whiteboard, allow students to explore on their own then choose a topic of interest for further research. Have older students make a multimedia presentation or create a digital story about their topic using Adobe Creative Cloud Express for Education, reviewed here. Younger students could create a digital story around their topic using My Storybook, reviewed here. The NASA SciFiles provides award-winning, inquiry-based and standards-based videos promoting STEM learning for students in grades 3-12. This section of Knowitall.org is designed to introduce students to NASA through the use of problem-based learning. Each series (topic) has four 15 minute videos, starring the Tree House Detectives solving problems and searching out answers using the scientific method. Find every area of STEM included in the series from environmental issues to space travel, energy to physical fitness, and everything else you can think of for STEM. Some specific sample topics include Case of the Shaky Quake, Case of the Galactic Vacation, Case of the Mysterious Material, Case of the "Wright" Invention, and too many more to name here.
In the Classroom
The video lengths make these perfect for classroom use or for young people to view on their own. Flip your classroom and use a video as homework. Have students take notes on the material and write down questions they still have and topics that confuse them. Or, extend learning and use a tool like playposit, reviewed here, for students to pause videos and ask or answer questions right on the video. Show the video to the class, and then discuss the concept at length. Consider giving all students a chance to voice their opinions (even the shyest and quiet ones) by using a backchannel tool like GoSoapBox, reviewed here, during the discussion.

Through hands-on, interactive games and animations, this site tackles subjects that are often considered too advanced for elementary students and presents them simply and concisely.A la carte style menu lets you pick and choose subject areas that relate to your classroom. You can even download a Spaceplace podcast. A Spanish version of the full site is available.
In the Classroom
There is a special section for teachers that offers printable pictures for the classroom and classroom activities. Use the menus or search function to find extenxsion topics for your regular curriculum, such as "What Batteries Will Last Until Your Old Age?" when studying electricity, and share them on a projector or as a classroom center during that unit. Encourage budding scientists by making this site available on your classroom computer all the time or sharing it on your teacher web site. Play the Space Place Musings podcast as students wait for their bus. The full site provides enrichment or home activities for kids and parents, too.

In this interactive graphic novel, readers can experience the trip along with the characters in various ways. Explore space with NASA's XR graphic novel, "First Woman". This interactive book can be listened to on the website, read online, or downloaded as a PDF and printed. The 360-degree playback is currently only supported using Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera browsers. Open this site on an interactive whiteboard or projector and access the "e-clips." The clips are short video segments that would be an excellent supplement for any lesson on NASA related materials. What is agricultural literacy? Find out by exploring and taking advantage of the many resources for teachers and students shared on this site. Visit the Teacher Center to find a standards-based agricultural literacy curriculum matrix, search for state agricultural programs, visit a virtual farm, and much more. The Student Center includes Ag Smart quizzes, games, state agricultural facts, and career information. Although not required, creating an account allows users to save lessons for easy access anytime.
In the Classroom
Use the provided activities and lessons when planning a nutrition unit or learning about each state's agriculture products. Include the AgBadging Activities as part of a computer learning station or as a flipped or blended learning activity to engage students in learning about the many fields of agriculture. In the Classroom
Be sure to bookmark (or favorite) this site for use throughout the year to find real-world resources for classroom use. Don't forget to look for materials on National Geographic for use with Earth Day and Arbor Day activities! Differentiate easily using the multiple levels of materials found within National Geographic. Some text portions are challenging, so you should pair weaker readers with a partner as they research on this site. Have students create a simple infographic sharing their findings using Venngage, reviewed here. Have students create a word cloud of the important terms they learn from this site using a tool such as WordItOut, reviewed here. If you use Apple products in your classroom, be sure to download the interactive iBooks for use in classroom centers or independent reading.
